Our Team

Over the past decade, John has helped lead Serving You Ministries through steady, mission-driven growth. His passion is clear - calling people to serve God as they love their neighbors well. He is a diligent planner and enjoys embracing the steps needed to see a fruitful outcome. John holds both a Masters and Specialist Degree in Leadership from the University of Alabama.

He previously served as an educator and coach.

He is married to his wife Mary. Together they have four children and a growing family. John’s heart for ministry is summed up in his favorite verse…”He must increase and I must decrease.”

Geovanny started working at SYM in September 2023. Before joining Serving You, he worked for the Trussville Fire Department and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. He and his wife also served as house parents at a children’s ranch for a year. Originally from Ecuador, Geovanny has lived in the United States for ten years. During this time, he and his wife, Kayla, founded the nonprofit ministry KINGDOM ACTS, an international mission dedicated to bringing the gospel to remote communities. Through this ministry, they have led mission trips to the Ecuadorian jungle, sharing God’s Word, distributing Bibles, and organizing discipleship, evangelism, and outreach activities.

Geovanny is currently studying Theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, equipping himself to better serve in his ministry calling.

Geovanny and Kayla have four children: Lucas, Eliana, Franchesca, and Bella Zion.

Lehua joined Serving You Ministries as the Intake Coordinator in June of 2018.

Previously, she graduated from Hope Inspired Ministries job development program in January of 2017. She then went on to be their Volunteer Coordinator. She is looking forward to becoming the future wife of Antion Drakes and is a mother of 4 amazing boys and 1 beautiful girl. She has had the pleasure of serving the Woodlawn Community alongside, The Church Of The Highlands and Hope Street Christian Ministries since 2016. 

Kesha is a mother and woman of faith. As a divorced mom, rasing two beautiful daughters ages 22 and 20 Kesha’s life has been shaped by perseverance, growth and a deep commitment to serving others with compassion and purpose. She brings extensive experience in launching businesses for established corporations. Over the past decade she has also stepped into entrepreneurship, starting and building businesses of her own. These experiences have provided her with a strong foundation in leadership strategy and service.

In March of 2025, she began serving as a volunteer with Serving You and became employed in July 2025.

According to Kesha, life is good every season. She has learned the value of faith, resilience and community. She has an intense desire to give back and uplift others and always serve with integrity, humility and love.
